My City Day

ree

Hello lovlies!

My Saturday into Sunday in the city consisted of walking the streets with my childhood best friends, getting dinner at a three Michelin star restaurant and coffee in the morning! Then it was an early train back to Long Island!

As an individual who has the privilege to take a train into New York City, there were still a few blocks in the road to get there!

Due to weekend track work, from Ronkonkoma train station, I had to take a train to Hicksville, transfer to Babylon, and then another transfer from Babylon to Penn Station. It was a little confusing for someone who does not usually take the train by myself, but it was relatively easy thanks to the directions from the conductors and the train operator making sure people who were on their way to Penn knew what tarin to get on and what track to head to when transferring. Once in the city, I spent the earlier portion of the day walking around and sight seeing the events and the decorations that Macy's had on their outside window displays.

Macy's put forth a beautiful display for their Bloom's in NYC event. I am very interested in returning sometime soon to go into the store and see the flowers displayed on the inside. With such a gorgeous display on the outside, I cannot imagine how it looks on the inside!

Each window had a specific color scheme and way of drawing in tourists to come view the beautiful colors.I believe Macy's does an impeccable job with every window display they put out.. Especially for the holidays! I wanted to further investigate the window displays but I had a dinner reservation to catch!

For dinner, we went to a beautiful Japanese restaurant called TONCHIN NYC! Tonchin originated in Tokyo, Japan in 1992 and after 25 years, brought the experience to New York City. My beautiful, hardworking friend works at this establishment as well as the other wonderful staff, and made our experience one of a kind. For my dinner, I ordered:

SHOESTRING POTATO WITH YUKARI SHISO SALT*

potato, yukari shiso salt, tonchin umami salt - $8.00

CHASHU + SPICY MAYO + SESAME

chashu, spicy mayonnaise, sesame, miso, radish sprout, seaweed -$6.00

And also tried the

SPICY TAN TAN RAMEN

homemade noodles, tokyo tonkotsu broth, roasted cha-shu pork, egg, scallion, menma, cashew nuts, miso, chili pepper - $16.00

For Dessert, we shared:

COFFEE MILK SHAVED ICE

coffee, Tonchin honey cream sauce, vanilla ice cream - $17.00

Tonchin was such a welcoming, clean and professional place to have a wonderful dinner experience with friends, family and can be a great place for date night!

There were beautiful stems of cherry blossoms placed on the booth and throughout the restaurant that just add a very elegant touch.

Even the bathrooms give you an insight into what Tonchin is all about. The Ramen Noodle Wallpaper and Chopstick elements were such a fun way to add character in all the places it should when you are inside such a professional, fun atmosphere restaurant.

After dinner we went to see if we could get into a karaoke bar for some fun! Unfortunately, It was a saturday night and each place we ventured to were all booked up and had long wait times so we decided to wait for another day! So we walked back home and watched some Netflix and Youtube to wind down the night!

Sunday Morning:

We all got up around 8:30 am to get some coffee and walk around a bit before I had to catch my train to visit my family for a birthday celebration, and work responsibilities. I ordered a Mocha Latte (Without my usual Almond Milk because it completely slipped my mind) before my train. We also decided to take some pictures for Instagram before hitting the Subway into Penn Station.

All in all, this was such a fun experience and a great break from Long Island for a night with great friends, great food and so much love to go around.
